Description: The original House No. 2 located at 1385 Horan Drive was constructed in 1962 with additions built in 1978, 1983 and 1990. The facility is outdated, non-compliant and undersized for the crew and apparatus currently being housed at this location. The existing site does not allow for efficient expansion and has unsafe traffic sight lines and inadequate on-site maneuvering space for apparatus. Due to the age of the facility and condition of the infrastructure it does not warrant the required substantial investment to maintain or upgrade the existing building.

The proposed replacement House No. 2 is to be located at the western edge of the Fenton Logistics Park bordering Highway 44. The facility will house approximately 9,000 SF of relocated District administration offices from House No. 1 and include expanded apparatus and living quarters. A separate training facility is planned for the site and will eliminate staff out of district travel time for all personnel and provide expanded training options. An on-site maintenance/fuel/storage facility will serve the entire District and provide valuable space to store and maintain in-service and out of service apparatus. This state of the art fire house will allow the District to service surrounding residential and commercial properties and serve as the flagship for the community. The proposed new station will be 100% code compliant and built to essential services facility standards.
